The mission of the A. K. Rice Institute is to advance the understanding of covert processes affecting leadership and authority in groups and organizations. Using the Tavistock group relations tradition of open systems and psychodynamic theories, the A. K. Rice Institute offers group relations conferences, training programs, professional meetings, and publications in order to study and apply concepts of role, task, and boundaries to further the understanding of authority, leadership, and organizational effectiveness.
