What we do
Following 30 years experience in the public sector, Nigel provides advice and consulting services to clients in government (health, education, defence and welfare) agencies, strategic business groups in Government agencies, the private sector, and membership services organisations, including
- Strategic management and change management (including strategic planning, strategic human resources and business planning)
- Organisation development, Performance management and measurement
- Capability development for organisations and individuals
- Human resources management consulting at strategic and operational levels
- Design and delivery of training programmes
Achievements
- Led strategic planning and managed organisational change and restructuring, in many organisations, including for Public service wide programmes
- Managed regional service delivery in a large Government department, and corporate services in a Government department and a large health authority;
- Managed projects including the integration of strategic, business, HR and financial plans and systems, policy development and implementation, change, property development, performance measurement, and implementing information systems
- Global Partner, Haines Centre for Strategic Management; Facilitated and delivered international training in Haines Centre for Strategic Management programmes
- Rebuilt internal human resource management systems; managed change processes, facilitating achievement of Investors in People recognition for a Government department; developed employment agreements, human resources policies and procedures; provided internal consultancy services covering all human resource management activities for a number of Government organisations
- Contributed to State sector reform since the mid 1980s; involved in strategic and operational planning, organisational change, output and outcome definition, organisational performance management and improvement, capability development, performance measurement, and process improvement
Qualifications
- Master of Public Policy (with Merit), (Victoria University, 1996), Bachelor of Business Studies, (Massey University, 1992) , and Certificate in Strategic Management, Academy Certification (University of San Diego, 2007)
- Associate Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management, Professional Member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand, Member, New Zealand Organisation for Quality, and Associate Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand
