Santa Cruz County Probation Department (2001-Present) I managed a year-long strategic planning process among community leaders to reform the court, service system, and community response to adolescent substance use, emphasizing effective treatment over criminal sanctions. The resulting four-year plan (2003-2007) was funded for $1 million by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Reclaiming Futures initiative. I am currently working with the Project Management Team to implement the Plan.

Dept. of Justice (2002) I worked with the Director of Training to plan and facilitate a national symposium of faculty and content experts for the ten-year-old National Victims Assistance Academy program (4/03). I helped them create and analyze a pre-symposium survey, identified areas of potential conflict, designed the day-long meeting, assigned roles for staff, and provided facilitation.
