Dear ASP Members,

Welcome to YOUR sub-website on our new ASP Certification Program. This site is still under construction and will be until 2010 when this is formally implemented at our ASP Annual Conference in Pasadena in late February.

However, we will be updating and adding to this site as each piece of the program is finalized, so come back here monthly to see the latest changes.

It is not only for those of you who desire to be a highly skilled professional and show it with a designation as a Strategic Planning Professional (Level I) or a Strategic Management Professional (Level II), but our Strategic Planning Associate Program for students of, and transfers into the planning field.

Finally, we also want to recognize those individuals, firms and educational institutions who help teach and spread our Body of Knowledge (BOK) throughout the profession. Once they are a qualified ASP Registered Educational Provider, we encourage you to attend their programs to learn more about this BOK and under utilized planning field that is vital to organizational success.

We have a rigorous and prestigious global level ASP Strategic Planning Body of Knowledge, and certification for individual planning professionals (both ASP members and non-members).

This certification is recognized as the best in the Strategic Planning and Strategic Management Field, and is clearly distinguishable from with any other certification or certificate program.

Role
 Works with C-Level Executives and their Teams Works with Executives, Managers, and their Teams Becoming a professional as a student or in an associate role or just transferring to a Planning Department
Eligibility Requirements
  • 5 years (minimum) as an internal Executive or external Consultant leading multiple Strategic Planning assignments
  • College Graduate or 10 years experience
  • Demonstrates Mastery of entire BOK through REP Courses/PDUs
  • Obtained SPP Certification
  • 2 years (minimum) in an internal planning role or junior external Planning Consultant
  • College Graduate or 5 years of work experience
  • Demonstrates Mastery of Level I in BOK through REP Courses/PDUs
PDUs - Professional Development Units
  • Last year in a degreed program (Undergraduate or Graduate Degree)
  • CAP STONE Exam
  • Or someone starting out in Planning transferring from another discipline
  • Agree to sit for SPP within 3 years
Note: No experience in Planning or Business Acumen required
